Large tour of the Vakhtangov Theatre to Vladikavkaz.

On the eve of the ninety fifth theatre season, the Vakhtangov Theatre sets out on an extensive tour in the framework of the federal program “Large theatre tours of the 2015”. This year motto is “The Vakhtangov Theatre – to the Eugene Vakhtangov Motherland”.

The tour is arranged due to support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. The tour program is established jointly by the Vakhtangov Theatre and the Federal Centre for support of touring projects of the Ministry of Culture of Russia.

The Vakhtangov Theatre is delighted to take part in this significant project, visiting the birth-place of the Theatre’s founder Eugene Vakhtangov, the city of Vladikivkaz.

The Russian Academic Eugene Vakhtangov Theatre and the North-Ossetian State Academic Tkhapsaev Theatre are the major venues to host the nine productions brought by the Moscow Vakhtangov Theatre.

The citizens of Vladikavkaz will see such renowned productions as “Uncle Vania” by Anton Chekhov, “Anna Karenina” (a choreographic production based on the novel of Leo Tolstoy), “Uncle’s Dream” by Fyodor Dostoevskiy, “The Masquerade” by Yury Lermontov, “Matriona’s place” by Aleksander Solzhenitsin, “Dedication to Eva” by Erich Emmanuel Schmitt, “Jealous to herself” by Tirso de Molina, “Medea” by Jean Annouilh and “La crie de la Langouste” by D.Marella.

People’s Artists of the USSR Vasily Lanovoi and Vladimir Etush, People’s Artists of Russia – Lyudmila Maksakova Sergei Makovetskiy, Vladimir Simonov, Yevgeny Knyazev, Maria Aronova, Honored Artists of Russia – Yulia Rutberg, Andrei Ilyin, Lydia Velezheva, Vladimir Vdovichenkov, Marina Yesipenko, Anna Dubrovskaya, and reknowned young actors of the Vakhtangov Theatre – Victor Dobronravov, Grigory Antipenko, Eugenia Kregzhde, Olga Lerman, and many other actors will visit Vladikavkaz.

Opening ceremony of the “Large Theatre Tours” program of the Vakhtangov Theatre will take place at the Russian and North-Ossetian Theatres, on September 4. The ceremony will be attended by the Minister of Culture and of the Mass Communications of North Ossetia F. Khabalova, the Artistic Director of the Vakhtangov theatre Rimas Tuminas, Vakhtangov Theater Director Kirill Krok, and the Director of the Federal Center for support of theatre touring AntonProkhorov.
