“Director’s Lab” of Rimas Tuminas. Graduation plays of the department of the general stage management of the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute.

From January 10 to 19, 2016 the Graduation plays of the students of the general stage management department of the Boris Shchukin Theatre Institute will be performed at the New Stage of the Vakhtangov Theatre. Director of the course – Rimas Tuminas. This event represents a logical continuation of the Vakhtangov Theatre’s tradition to provide the stage to the Shchukin Theatre Institute graduates (“Learning to be Actors!”). We hope that this event arouses interest among our viewers. In case the productions are accepted by the audience, two more showcases in March, and at the end of the season will be arranged.

We invite you to take part in a press-conference on the project “Director’s Lab: Tuminas’ Students”, on January 11, 2016 at 12.30 p.m. at the New Stage of the Vakhtangov Theatre. At the press-conference Rimas Tuminas will introduce his students – young directors: Gulnaz Balpeisova, Vladimir Beldiyan, Anatoly Shulev and Hugo Erikssen. The directors will hold a conversation about their works, that will be presented for the first time at the Vakhtangov stage. Short trailers of each production will be shown during the press-conference.

January 10 – Jean-Paul Sartre “Behind closed doors”, directed by Hugo Erikssen.

January 14 – Anton Chekhov “Death of an Actor”, directed by Vladimir Beldiyan.

January 16 – “A Paris” (after the short-stories of Ivan Bunin), directed by Gulnaz Balpeisova.
