Mikhail Sidorkin

Meritorious Artist of the RF
Mikhail Nikolayevich Sidorkin was born in 1910 in Podolsk.
He was a student of a musician and teacher Nikolay Garnovskiy.
He graduated from the Schukin Theatre School.
He worked at the Vakhtangov Theatre from 1927 till 1949 as an actor and then as a director.
Since 1949 he was an actor and director at the Mossovet Theatre.
On the stage of that theatre Mikhail Sidorkin staged the play “Three of Them” by Gorkiy, which was said to be a “major step towards creation of great social and philosophic drama.”
In 1963-65 he was the Art Director of “Romen” Theatre.
Together with Alla Vasilyevna Sevastyanova — an actress and K.S. Stanislavskiy’s niece — he published a book of memoirs “Highways and byways” (VTO, 1982).
Mikhail Nikolayevich Sidorkin died in 1980.
