Performance video "Cyrano de Bergerac (2001)"

The premiere held on 2001. 02. 28

Performances about the life of Cyrano de Bergerac were put on stage many times over the past two centuries. However, none of them created such a tragic but at the same time incredibly funny image of the character as in the performance directed by Vladimir Mirzoev with Maksim Sukhanov in the title role.

It is a story of an unsightly looking poet with a sensitive heart who loves beautiful Roxane while she is inflamed with passion for handsome Christian.

Cyrano hides his delicate soul under the mask of irony and helps Roxane and Christian join together.

Only in many years Roxane finds out that fervent letters of Christian were actually written by the poet who was in love with her.

Edmond Rostand’s tragicomedy turns out to be a benefit performance of Maksim Sukhanov. The image of Cyrano, so vividly embodied by the actor, deeply affects every theatre goer.
Vladimir Mirzoev with his unique style, woven from the tones and nuances, through humour and laughter, speaks right up to your heart.

Running time: 3 hours 30 min with one intermission.
The play is recommended for audience older than 16 years (16 +).
