The first sound of the show is a wash that designates the place of action. A famous writer Abel Znorko lives as a recluse on a remote island in the Norwegian Seas. He escaped from the routine in order to stop playing the part of a happy man and smile when pain and suffering come up. For fifteen years, Znorko’s one friend and soul mate has been a woman, from whom he has been physically separated for the majority of their affair. But his solitude suddenly breaks Eric Larsen, who introduces himself as a journalist. He arrives to interview Znorko about his latest book, which is, in fact, a transcript of correspondence between the author and the woman. As Larsen seeks to unmask the identity of the woman, Znorko becomes infuriated. Evasions and lies twist into increasingly complex puzzles. But the woman, whom Znorko used to love, was Larsen’s wife. Slowly the barriers between the two men begin to fall as the profound mysteries of intimacy rise in their place. And here there are two men, who loved the same woman… Two antipodes join together in grievous loss, both doomed to loneliness… Two visions of the world and of one destiny…
