Othello (2000)

The stage director E. Marchelli made the he  action of the performance closer to spectators – it mainly takes place on the forestage. In front of us are not familiar majestic Shakespearian characters but contemporary people which recognizable intonations. Venice and Cyprus is a conventional designation of the action, the bored scoundrel Iago, the coward Cassio, the phlegmatic Othello and mischievous Desdemona are not attached to them. Iago easily buggers the general who is not too smart. The sad ending is known to everyone. Desdemona freezes before a huge mirror. Othello caresses her and blood flows down the glass, leaving streaks.
