The performance “Master’s Lessons” became the most significant work of Roman Viktyuk on the stage of the Vakhtangov Theatre.

In the black and white space of artist V. Boer Stalin, Zhdanov, Prokofyev and Shostakovich appeared as heroes of the political farce.  The play told how the Soviet leaders, sneering at composers, composed their own music. The performance was larger and more complex than the English play. The Russian actors brought their depth, pain and understanding of the terrible paradoxes of history in it.
